- Recognition of work results and positive feedback to increase satisfaction. If it is possible, name all the people who do their job well, express the importance of their work and thank them for their efforts.
- Make the workers meet achievable challenges! There is an optimal level of difficulty that delivers the best performance. Below or above this level the performance deteriorates.
- Free choices when it comes to challenges! If the employees feel that doing a job is their own decision, the freedom of decision-making brings internal motivation to life. On the other hand, with assigned tasks, you may feel that you have been given a command. It can be quite demotivating.
- Allow employees to share their feelings and successes. Do not isolate your colleagues and try not to limit their informal and formal conversations. Give them topics that they can talk about.
- Let your colleagues bring their own personality to the workplace! It is much easier for a manager to find motivational push buttons, if his or her employees can express themselves and set their own individual goals.
- Build on self-organization! Not only an official team building organized by the company itself can be constructive. Let team members with similar interests to find each other!
